SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS.- With a projected investment exceeding US$15 million, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced the construction of the first La Quinta hotel in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province, and the third of the brand in the Dominican Republic, in an event led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña.
A press release states that the project will generate 700 direct jobs and more than 1,500 indirect jobs and will be developed in an area of 560,000 square meters.
“San Francisco de Macorís is advancing by leaps and bounds towards its full development and today we are pleased that God allows us to contribute to that development with the start of this great project,” declared businessman Franklin Romero.
Engineer Ivanov Collado explained that the La Quinta by Wyndham hotel will be developed within the Premium Residence socio-ecological project, located on Antonio Guzmán Fernández Avenue, a project being carried out by the government of President Luis Abinader in that municipality.
Edward De Valle II, representative of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts for the Dominican Republic, highlighted that the La Quinta by Wyndham hotels and resorts will attract domestic business travelers, Dominican residents, and non-resident family members traveling for leisure.
“This hotel and its associated services will position the Duarte province as a central hub and create a new foundation of confidence for investors interested in developing projects in the region. Furthermore, its geographic location will serve as a landmark for the province's new entrance, stimulating new businesses to develop in the area. With an investment of over $15 million, the project will be backed by a financial structure developed in conjunction with established partners in the fields of capital, investment, and asset management,” he explained.

The hotel will consist of a four-story building, lobby area, co-working spaces, restaurant, swimming pool, health and wellness center, and a rooftop terrace suitable for outdoor events. It will be built in phases, with 126 rooms in the first phase and 284 upon completion.
