Considering that rainwater can not only increase the proportion of water in the concrete mix, but can also affect the way it is transported, when it is placed, when it is compacted and finally in the finishing, therefore if the amount of water increases, it causes a reduction in the strength and final resistance of the finish.
The setting time for concrete under normal conditions is approximately 24 hours. Therefore, it is recommended to protect the area during this time to prevent contact with rain, as this would require repeating the pouring process. If rain occurs during the first 30 minutes or during the initial setting time, the concrete mix will only be affected if the rain is heavy.
