Businessowners in the coastal area of Juan Dolio expressed various problems that are preventing them from effectively carrying out their work.
Among the problems mentioned are the cleaning of the beaches due to the garbage left by Hurricane Beryl, the need for the presence of Digesett agents to organize traffic on weekends when more bathers come, and the big problem with beachgoers.
These onlookers are preventing some businesses from operating at full capacity due to the dispute over beach areas that, by law, belong to the owners or tenants of businesses near the coast.
They claimed that they have made multimillion-dollar investments and have not been able to work.
The issue of shoplifters and the price manipulation they carry out, as well as the diversion of customers to other businesses, has worried the business owners who have invested thousands of dollars to keep the restaurants located on the coast of Juan Dolio afloat.
Those present at the press conference included Wilton Abreu de Jesús Montás, Leandra Reynoso Morillo, Ana Reynoso Morillo, Ambiorix Pérez Moneró, Mrs. Deisy, and lawyer Rozon, who represents two of the businessmen, among others.
Business owners expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Police (Politur), and the Public Prosecutor's Office for their willingness to handle these situations appropriately and in accordance with the law, allowing them to provide better service in their businesses. However, they stated that they did not feel the same level of support from the Municipal Government regarding these issues.
