SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican airline Arajet signed a collaboration agreement with the organizing committee of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, becoming the official airline of the sporting event to be held in Santo Domingo.
According to Arajet, this alliance will strengthen the transport logistics related to the event, facilitating air travel for athletes, sports delegations, technical teams, special guests, and fans participating in the regional competition.
The agreement also seeks to strengthen the Dominican Republic's position as a host of major international sporting events and as a strategic air connection point in the Caribbean and Latin America region, according to a press release.
Arajet CEO and founder Víctor Pacheco Méndez emphasized the importance of the agreement for both the airline and the country. He stated that becoming the official airline of the Games represents an opportunity to support the development of the sport and project the nation's image on the international stage.
“For Arajet, it is an honor to become the official airline of the Central American and Caribbean Games. This agreement represents our commitment to sports, to youth, and to promoting the Dominican Republic as a regional hub,” the executive stated.
Pacheco Méndez added that the company is proud to be able to put its operational capacity at the service of an event that will bring together athletes and delegations from all over the region around talent, discipline and sporting excellence.
For his part, the president of the organizing committee of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, José P. Monegro, positively assessed the strategic alliance with the Dominican airline.
He noted that having Arajet's support strengthens the event's organizational and logistical capacity, as well as representing important support to guarantee the success of the regional sporting competition.
“We are pleased to add a Dominican brand that shares our vision of promoting the country and offering a memorable event for the entire region,” Monegro said, referring to the importance of the agreement.
According to the airline, the collaboration between the two institutions will help facilitate air connectivity during the Games and promote the country as a destination prepared to host large-scale sporting events.
Takeoff in 2022
Arajet began operations in 2022 and currently operates from Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport, using a modern fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to connect the Dominican Republic with various destinations on the continent.
With this agreement, the airline strengthens its presence in the region and positions itself as a strategic ally for initiatives that promote tourism, sports and air connectivity in the country.
