Road Construction Begins : Road connecting Moca to the Duarte Highway will be widened

They will widen the road that connects Moca with the Duarte highway

In Moca, Espaillat province, President Luis Abinader approved and instructed the Minister of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella, yesterday, Sunday, to begin the technical studies for the expansion to four lanes of the Ramón Cáceres highway, which links that municipality with the Duarte highway.

The justification is that it is a strategic route for the mobility of the Espaillat province and the entire Northern region.

The project aims to improve road safety, reduce travel times, and boost economic activity between Moca, Santiago, and other areas of the Cibao region, according to a press release from the Presidency.

The intervention, the statement explains, is part of the general urban development project for Moca, which also includes the construction of the Monte de la Jagua road, to connect the municipality with the Cibao International Airport, as well as the bypass that will link Estancia Nueva with Guaucí, which strengthens the connection with San Francisco de Macorís, Tenares, Salcedo, Moca and Santiago.

Moca, recognized as one of the country's main agricultural production centers, will receive a decisive boost to its competitiveness, urban growth and logistical development with these works, consolidating its strategic role in the national economy, concludes the Presidency's note.
