SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that from the 9th to the 18th of this month of October it will carry out road repair work and bridge mounting in the section between kilometer 39 and 45, in the vicinity of the municipality of Villa Altagracia, on the Duarte highway.
To ensure maximum safety for drivers and workers, it is necessary to divert traffic flow in the North-South direction (Cibao-Santo Domingo) at the point called La Curva de la Muerte, at KM 45.
A note from the MOPC Communications Department indicates that the scheduled closure will be in effect while the bridge installation work is being carried out on that road.
According to the press release issued by the MOPC, the Duarte Vieja highway, which runs through Villa Altagracia, will be used as an alternate route.
The flow of traffic will be assisted by the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett), the Military and Police Commission of Public Works and the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), who will be taking the appropriate precautionary measures to avoid accidents.
“We ask users of this road for their understanding and respect for traffic signs, as well as the authorities who will be providing assistance during the execution of these activities, and we express our apologies for the inconvenience caused, as we are working to guarantee greater safety,” the statement reads.
