Vehicular traffic will be suspended from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; authorities recommend using alternate routes
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday, May 9, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to allow the passage of a vessel.
The institution explained that the measure is in response to the arrival of the vessel BD Calipso ONE at the Joseph Industrial Development Corp Shipyard for repair work.
The floating bridge, which connects the National District with the Villa Duarte sector in the municipality of Santo Domingo East, will remain out of service during that interval, so drivers are urged to take precautions.
As alternative routes, the MOPC recommends using the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte and Juan Bosch bridges to travel between Santo Domingo and Villa Duarte, in both directions.
