SANTO DOMINGO.– The Dominican Republic is included in the list of “7 Caribbean destinations for adventure lovers” compiled by the American website USA Today 10best.
During a Caribbean vacation, in addition to making plans that invite you to relax in a hammock with a drink in hand, it is also possible to enjoy adventures for travelers seeking excitement.
The publication indicates that the desire to enjoy more dynamic outings drives travelers to seek experiences that go beyond expectations, so they have compiled a list that includes seven places in the Caribbean where it is possible to find some of them.
During a visit to the Dominican Republic, he points out, it is possible to see humpback whales or do extreme sports tourism activities such as kitesurfing and windsurfing.
For those who wish to encounter the humpback whales that visit the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean every year, it is recommended to visit the “Marine Mammal Sanctuary of Silver and Navidad Banks”, in the waters near Samaná, a remote and shallow marine sanctuary and one of the few places where humpback whales can be observed up close.
For this, they recommend taking an excursion with Aquatic Adventures, which they describe as "a strictly regulated experience, where it is possible to swim or snorkel with these friendly giants during their winter breeding and calving season.".
For kitesurfing and windsurfing, they recommend Cabarete as an ideal place located on the north coast of the country near Puerto Plata, where professionals of all levels come to "enjoy the wind".

The country is included in second place, preceded only by the Bahamas, followed by Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, Dominica, Belize and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
