The departure of a tugboat will force the temporary closure of the Floating Bridge this Saturday, July 11

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Floating Bridge will remain temporarily closed this Saturday, July 11, to allow the TUG Green Chief tugboat to depart from the Malaca dock facilities, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported.

The institution explained that the interruption of vehicular traffic will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., as part of the necessary coordination to facilitate the maneuver of the vessel on the Ozama River.

During that period, passage through the structure that connects the National District with Villa Duarte, in Santo Domingo East, will be suspended, so Public Works recommended that drivers use alternate routes.

The MOPC indicated that those who need to travel between both areas can use the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte and Juan Bosch bridges while the temporary closure remains in effect.

The institution indicated that, once the tugboat's maritime operation is complete, the Floating Bridge will be reopened to vehicular traffic.
