SANTO DOMINGO.– The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET), through the Metropolitan Transportation (MT) operating entity, announced that the Santo Domingo Cable Car, Line 2 of Los Alcarrizos, will suspend its operations from Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 19th, as part of its annual preventive maintenance program.
The information was released in a statement published by MT, in which the entity explained that the temporary interruption seeks to guarantee the safety, efficiency and operational continuity of the cable transport system.
According to the institution, the cable car service will be restored on Monday, July 20, once the scheduled maintenance work is completed.
OMSA will offer free alternative transportation

The units will cover the usual route of the cable car and will operate on the same operating schedule as the system.
According to the published plan, the buses will make stops at the Los Alcarrizos, Las Toronjas and Duarte stations, guaranteeing the connection of users during the maintenance period.
The schedule will remain unchanged
Metropolitana de Transporte indicated that the temporary bus service will operate on the usual schedules of the Los Alcarrizos Cable Car:
- Monday to Saturday: from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Sundays: from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The entity thanked users for their understanding and assured that these tasks are part of the periodic maintenance necessary to maintain the safety and quality standards of the mass transit system.
