Puerto Plata and La Romana continue to lead cruise ship arrivals during February

SANTO DOMINGO.- Seventy percent of the tourist vessels arriving in the country during this month of February will do so through the ports of Puerto Plata and La Romana, according to a report by the Dominican Port Authority, which also highlights the continued growth of the industry in the country.

Taíno Bay holds first place in receiving boats during the month of February with 51 boats, followed by Amber Cove with 28, and then La Romana.

Cruise ships with a capacity of between three thousand and six thousand passengers began arriving at Dominican ports last Saturday, February 1st, and will continue until February 28th. An average of two ships per day are arriving at the various ports.

Among the cruise ships that will dock in the country are: Aida Luna, Costa Fascinosa, Norwegian Epic, Aida Diva, Costa Pacifica, Norwegian Viva, Scarlet Lady, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Escape, Carnival Celebration, Club Media 1 and 2, Carnival Vista, Costa Pacifica, Mein Schiff 4, s.

Also noteworthy are cruise ships such as the MSC Seascape, Carnival Mardi Gras, Celebrity Apex, Norwegian Encore, and many more, whose passengers will boost the local economy as they visit various tourist destinations.

These visitor recruitment efforts are part of the government's efforts to boost cruise ship passenger numbers outside the usual season, which in the Dominican Republic begins between October and December and ends between March and April.
