SANTO DOMINGO WEST- President Luis Abinader delivered 442 property titles from the Hato Nuevo II titling project in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, out of a total of 688 planned, impacting 2,752 people in this municipality.
During the ceremony, the president stated that the delivery of property titles guarantees peace of mind and legal security for families, while preventing third parties from attempting to appropriate land occupied for years by community members.
He explained that with this process the Government directly hands over the properties to those who have lived on these lands for decades, and in this regard he highlighted that many of the beneficiary families have been living on these lands for 25, 30 and even 40 years, so this handover represents the recognition of their property rights.
He also announced that the Government is working on titling more than 4,000 properties in the El Progreso, Santa Rosa and Buenas Noches sectors, which will continue to expand legal security and peace of mind for the residents of Los Alcarrizos.
President Abinader explained that the land titling program is part of a comprehensive development plan for the municipality , which also includes infrastructure improvements and public works . He reported that teams from the Ministry of Public Works will begin paving work next week in areas that require it, while the mayor's office is carrying out smaller projects, such as bridges and road improvements , to connect different parts of the municipality.
The president stated that the goal is to continue expanding the titling program until reaching 25,000 property titles in that area, which will allow thousands of families to have legal security over their homes.
The head of state reiterated that the awarding of titles represents social justice and economic development, which is why he usually attends these events personally.
“That’s why I always say that I don’t send anyone to the land title ceremonies; I come myself, because this is social justice and economic development for each and every one of you. Congratulations, you can count on the government. Now you are truly the owners of your property,” the president concluded.
