SANTO DOMINGO.– Banco Popular Dominicano was recognized as the best employer in the financial sector in the Dominican Republic and the fourth most attractive company to work for due to its sustainability practices, according to Summa magazine.
The Central American business publication, in its December edition, listed the companies from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic that stand out for their commitment to the well-being of their workforce and the implementation of good practices to attract and retain human talent.
The Best Employers ranking, based on a regional survey, assessed aspects such as labor practices, incentives, development opportunities, and commitment to sustainability.
The study involved 1,000 professionals from the region, who nominated the most attractive companies to work for in each country and those with an outstanding commitment to sustainability.

In this regard, the study “The Age of Adaptability”, conducted by the recruitment firm Manpower, states that 62% of candidates check the environmental reputation of the company before accepting a job offer and for 60% of employees it is a decisive factor that their organization has a clear stance on environmental issues.
Young and inclusive workforce
Banco Popular boasts a workforce that strategically blends youth and experience. In 2024, the bank hired 1,131 new employees. Of these, 86% were professionals under 30 years old. Meanwhile, 57% of the new hires were women, reinforcing the bank's commitment to female inclusion in the workplace.
This year, Banco Popular promoted 976 employees. Thirteen percent of these promotions were to managerial roles. Thirty-nine percent of the promotions benefited employees between 30 and 50 years old, strengthening teams that balance dynamism and experience.
