Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated the reconstruction of the traffic island on the Manolo Tavárez Justo road, near the entrance to this municipality in the Hermanas Mirabal province, this Thursday.
The project, whose construction will cost more than eight million pesos, is being carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Zones (CEIZTUR).
This intervention aims to reinforce cultural identityand offer a beautiful welcoming space to residents and visitors.
Collado highlighted the importance of the work for this municipality and the entire Hermanas Mirabal province, because of the symbol of heroism it represents for the country.
"With this project, we pay tribute to those who deserve it: the Mirabal sisters. We are also promoting tourism in this province, its culture, its history, its gastronomy, and its natural beauty," stated Minister Collado.
The Minister of Tourism announced that a comprehensive intervention will be carried out to declare the Hermanas Mirabal province as a city brand and revealed that it will be promoted as a destination at the Fitur tourism fair , which will be held in January in Madrid, Spain.
He also made clear his firm commitment to continue promoting domestic tourism, creating jobs as a result of the dynamism in the sector, and bringing projects to communities and coastlines with tourism potential.
The intervention of the work begun will consist of a modern, spacious and colorful work that will announce to visitors the arrival of the central province of Cibao, with enormous historical, natural, cultural and tourist potential.
The project, covering approximately 762.40 square meters, includes an esplanade area, city brand sign, street furniture, steps, ramps, signage, garbage containers, landscaping and lighting.
The project will also include the improvement of drainage systems, curbs, and road signs to enhance pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area.
The event, led by Minister Collado, was attended by the main provincial and municipal authorities, who expressed their gratitude for the project.
