Office hours will be extended to handle complaints about electricity billing

Joel Santos reported that for one month there will be specialized staff available to review users' concerns about their bills

SANTO DOMINGO. The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos, announced that the institution's commercial offices will extend their hours for the next 30 days, as part of a special program aimed at addressing users' concerns related to electricity billing.

Santos explained that the measure aims to make it easier for people who have questions about the charges reflected on their bills to go directly to the commercial offices and receive guidance from specialized personnel.

The official indicated that the program will begin implementation this Thursday and will cover the commercial offices of the various locations, including those in the North Zone.

The initiative will allow users to present their cases and receive explanations about the components and criteria used to determine the billed amounts.

“We are going to call on the public, those who have any concerns about their bill, to come to the offices,” Santos explained, referring to the program.

The minister indicated that the presence of specialized personnel will allow for direct review of invoices and the provision of answers to users regarding any particular situations they may raise.

They are extending the hours for a month

Santos specified that the extended hours will remain in effect for the next 30 days, with the purpose of providing greater convenience to users who need to make inquiries.

The measure aims to give customers more time to visit the offices and ask questions, especially in cases where they feel it is necessary to know in more detail the origin of the amounts included in their invoices.

The official stated that the goal is for people to be able to ask questions and receive a clear explanation about the billing process.

Technicians also explain the invoices

In addition to extending the hours, the Ministry of Energy and Mines has deployed technical staff from different locations to publicly explain the particularities of the bills.

Santos indicated that these specialists have gone to the media to offer details about the elements involved in billing and to clarify the doubts that have arisen among users.

According to the minister, these actions are part of an effort to bring technical information closer to the population and facilitate the understanding of the charges that appear on the bills.

They aim to make it easier for users to find answers

The program combines in-person service at commercial offices with explanations provided by technical teams through the media.

With the temporary extension of hours, the Ministry seeks to enable more service spaces so that users can review their cases and obtain information directly from specialists.
