SANTO DOMINGO.– The Madrid Real Estate Exhibition (SIMA) announced that the Dominican Republic will be the “guest country of honor” for its 2026 edition, consolidating the Dominican nation as a strategic market for real estate tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean region.
The information was released by Eloy Bohúa Fernández, CEO of Planner Exhibitions and main architect of the Madrid Real Estate Show (SIMA), during the X Latin American Real Estate Congress CILA-AEI, held last week in Punta Cana.
For more than two decades, the spacious pavilions of IFEMA Madrid have opened their doors every year to buyers and investors who come together at this major meeting of the European. In the last two editions, the Dominican Republic has stood out with a representative stand showcasing the most innovative projects and developments, strengthening the concept of real estate tourism.
The Spanish businessman said that the exhibition will take place from May 20 to 23, 2026, with a leading role for the Dominican nation, which will have a large pavilion, showcasing its main offerings and various properties located in the main local destinations.
Dinner
After participating in the CILA-AEI congress, Eloy Bohúa Fernández also held a dinner at the Catalonia Hotel in Santo Domingo, sponsored by the construction and development company Noval Properties and supported by Alter Estate.
“This designation represents a unique opportunity to further position the Dominican Republic before the world as a reliable, stable and highly competitive destination for real estate investment,” said César Latrilla, CEO of Noval Properties, during his remarks at the event.
SIMA is the leading international real estate fair in the Iberian market and one of the most influential in the global real estate ecosystem. Each year, it brings together hundreds of developers, investment funds, brokers, public authorities, and specialized media from Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.
A press release highlights that the Dominican Republic's participation in SIMA comes at a time of high maturity for the Dominican market. "With a constantly growing tourism sector, macroeconomic stability, and a favorable legal framework, the country is attracting the interest of international investors seeking real estate assets with genuine profitability and professional management.".
“Bringing the Dominican Republic to SIMA is not just about bringing projects: it’s about bringing a vision for the country, for sustainability, for innovation, and for leadership in the region,” Latrilla concluded.
