SANTO DOMINGO.- The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in France, ProDominicana and the Franco-Dominican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFD) announced the official launch of Dominican Week in France 2026 (SD26), a platform that seeks to strengthen trade, investment and cooperation relations between both countries.
The meeting will take place in Paris from October 17 to 22, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of SIAL Paris 2026, in Paris Nord Villepinte, which will allow taking advantage of the presence of international companies, buyers and investors linked to the agri-food sector.
According to the official statement, the activity articulates an agenda that combines economic and commercial diplomacy, political and parliamentary dialogue, and cultural diplomacy, with activities aimed at generating new business opportunities and strengthening institutional ties between the Dominican Republic and France.
It highlights that the initiative is being developed in continuity with the visits of Dominican President Luis Abinader to France and his meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations.
One of the central components, he specifies, will be the holding of business and sector meetings aimed at promoting the Dominican Republic as a destination for investment and as a strategic business platform in the Caribbean.
Free trade zones, manufacturing and logistics among the featured sectors
According to official information, the trade program includes the conference “Dominican Republic: strategic platform in the Caribbean”, which will address opportunities in free zones, manufacturing, logistics and investment.
The event will take place in the Business France amphitheater and will be accompanied by B2B business meetings, designed to facilitate direct contacts between Dominican and French companies.
For the real estate and infrastructure sector, this agenda is especially relevant due to the link between investment, industrial development, logistics, and the need for new spaces for business operations.
Renewable energies and digital transformation
The official program also includes “Green Light: renewable energies and investment”, a meeting that will take place at the Renewable Energy Union (SER).
The goal is to put on the agenda the opportunities linked to the energy transition and investment in renewable energy projects, an area closely related to infrastructure development and the competitiveness of productive sectors.
Another event will be “Digital Dominican Republic: New Technologies, Fintech, and Cybersecurity,” which will be held at Onepoint Live Paris. This event will address strategic sectors of the digital economy and emerging technologies.
The Dominican Republic will have a presence at SIAL Paris 2026
The Dominican Republic's participation in SIAL Paris 2026 is one of the main commercial components of the week.
The program includes a ProDominicana pavilion at the fair, as well as a program for buyers and exporters in the food sector and B2B meetings.
The coincidence of SD26 with SIAL will allow for a concentrated agenda in Paris to promote Dominican exports and facilitate closer ties between national producers, international buyers and investors.
Official delegation headed by economic entities
The government delegation will be headed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), the Ministry of Energy and Mines and ProDominicana, with the participation of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep).
The institutional agenda also includes a parliamentary visit to the French National Assembly and working sessions at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
These meetings will complement the business agenda with spaces for institutional dialogue on economic and cooperation relations between the Dominican Republic and France.
Culture as part of the bilateral agenda
The Dominican Week in France will also incorporate cultural activities, with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
Among them is the opening of the exhibition “The Dominican Worlds of José Castillo”, at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine, as well as the launch of the Dominican Republic X Cité internationale des arts Artistic Residencies.
With this program, SD26 seeks to present a comprehensive vision of the country, combining trade promotion, investment, institutional relations and culture in a single bilateral agenda.
A platform to project the country in Europe
The Dominican Week in France 2026 proposes an agenda aimed at connecting companies, investors, institutions and productive sectors of both countries, taking advantage of the celebration of SIAL Paris as an international meeting point.
The initiative brings together sectors such as manufacturing, free trade zones, logistics, energy, technology, and agribusiness, with the aim of expanding opportunities for economic and commercial cooperation between the Dominican Republic and France.
