SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that repair and rehabilitation work is being carried out on a section of the Ocoa–Cruce de Ocoa highway, due to structural damage that compromises road safety.
According to the ministry, the work is specifically focused on kilometer 7 from Ocoa, identified as a critical point due to significant deterioration in the road structure. These conditions, the institution stated, directly affect vehicular traffic and pose a risk to drivers and pedestrians.
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) explained that these interventions are part of its efforts to guarantee road safety nationwide and restore traffic flow under suitable conditions. It also stated that the work aims to repair existing damage and prevent situations that could worsen the road's condition.
In that regard, the agency urged the public to take precautions when traveling through the affected area. It indicated that it is essential to reduce speed, respect the posted signage, and follow the instructions of the work crews present at the site.
Similarly, the ministry reiterated the call to remain attentive to traffic flow in both directions, in order to avoid incidents while repair work is underway.
The agency reiterated that work will continue on the affected section until safe traffic conditions are restored, while keeping the public informed of any updates related to the intervention.
