SANTO DOMINGO. – The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that it has ordered the replacement of the bridge over the Yaque del Norte River, located in the municipal district of Amina, Valverde province, and that for this purpose it has opened an emergency public bidding process for the construction of a new structure.
The bidding process, identified by the number MOPC-MAE-PEUR-2026-0002, will allow timely progress in the construction of a new bridge, designed under current technical standards, with criteria of safety, durability and resilience, the entity highlights in a statement.
He explains that the tender also includes the construction of other bridges that are in poor condition along the San José de las Matas – El Rubio – Monción highway, as part of an intervention aimed at improving connectivity and road safety in this important area of the Northern region.
These projects have been incorporated as a priority within the institutional planning. The Ministry reiterated that continuous access to essential services and road connectivity are fundamental for the social and economic development of communities, especially in those where infrastructure directly impacts the daily lives of their inhabitants.
