SANTO DOMINGO.– The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) announced the opening of a course-competition aimed at young Dominicans who wish to train as air traffic controllers, one of the most important functions within the air navigation system and operational safety.
According to information provided by the IDAC, the call represents an opportunity for those seeking to join the aeronautical sector, in an area directly linked to the coordination of air traffic and operations at the country's airports.
An opportunity to enter the aeronautical sector
The entity explained that young people between 18 and 30 years of age who have completed secondary education, possess a Dominican identity card and have a command of the English language at level 5 or higher, according to the operational classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), will be able to participate.
He also specified that prior experience will not be necessary to apply to the process.
The IDAC also indicated that applicants must not be beneficiaries of retirement or pension benefits from the Dominican State.
Applications will be entirely digital
According to the institution, applications must be made exclusively through the official Concursa portal, available on the website of the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP).
Those interested will have to register, complete their profile and upload the required documents in PDF format within the system.
Applications will be accepted from May 21st to 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
They seek to strengthen the technical staff in the air sector
The Director General of IDAC, Igor Rodríguez Durán, assured that the process will be developed under ethical and professional criteria established by the Ministry of Public Administration, prioritizing transparency, equal opportunities and the objective evaluation of the participants.
The institution noted that this call for applications is part of the efforts to continue strengthening specialized human resources within the Dominican aeronautical system, at a time when the country is maintaining a sustained expansion of its air operations and connectivity.
