SANTO DOMINGO.- With a positive business atmosphere and requests from participating companies to increase their exhibition space for the 2026 edition, Expo Ferretera Dominicana, the trade fair that showcases the latest developments and innovations in the hardware industry,
The exhibition featured 115 stands, 56 companies, and around 10 countries that gathered this weekend at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel to present their products and services to business owners, merchants, and representatives of the construction sector.
Ana Ventura, the brand manager, described the meeting as an important business opportunity because it brought together the manufacturer, the distributor, the importer, and the end consumer in the same setting.
He explained that in the face of the unfair trade that the Dominican market is experiencing today, these business meetings are more necessary than ever to reaffirm the strength and unity of the national market.
He said that for this 2025 edition there was a 30% in participating companies compared to the previous edition in 2023, as it was not held in 2024 due to the country's elections. "From the first day of the opening, deals started being closed, and that's why companies keep coming back," he commented.
He opined that the country is at its best moment and that all the effort the government has made to promote tourism has presented the other business, commercial and economic side of the Dominican Republic.
“The tourism sector goes hand in hand with construction and vice versa, so it’s like a chain. I think this is the moment for the Dominican Republic to show the world what we are made of and what we are capable of,” Ventura said.
He noted that during the event they received delegations from various parts of the country such as Moca, Santiago, Cotuí, Mao, Baní, among others.
“Undoubtedly, these types of events are important to energize the sector and keep us up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in the construction industry, and especially to open doors to new markets. For example, the India pavilion, where there is great potential for the construction sector that people are unaware of,” the businesswoman explained.
Among the countries that attended, he cited Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Sweden, and Turkey, who brought interesting proposals to meet the needs of the industry.
“During the trade fair, we had a visit from the Thai Chamber of Commerce, which is interested in exploring the Dominican Republic market. That's another country that manufactures everything, and we also want to establish trade relations with them,” he said.
