SANTO DOMINGO – Chantal Angélica Pimentel Leguizamón is a woman who, despite difficulties, has remained strong and resilient. She is a Dominican businesswoman in the construction sector and the mother of a large family of eight children, including biological children and stepchildren, whom she has raised with dedication, wisdom, and a love that transcends any adversity.
She manages Miguel Taveras Industrial SRL , a company dedicated to the sale of construction materials, a responsibility she combines with her greatest vocation: being a mother. “Being a mother means being a woman in constant reinvention,” she says.
After losing her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic, her motherhood took an even deeper turn. “What I never imagined was that I would have to face this challenge alone,” she says sincerely, but also with pride in the resilience she found within herself.

Raising eight children hasn't been easy, but Chantal refuses to give up. With patience, focus, and empathetic listening, she has transformed her home into a space of respect and love. "It was and still is a challenge," she confesses. "I developed skills to run my home with love, not with the pain of loss.".
Despite living in a world where many women choose to have fewer children, Chantal always dreamed of a large family. “My grandmother Angelica was my inspiration. I loved seeing her happy when all the grandchildren got together. I don’t regret having them in my life; they are my strength every day.”.
She has achieved a balance between her business and family life thanks to psychological support and deep personal work. “I learned to prioritize, to delegate, and above all, to ask for help,” she explains. She also learned to take care of herself. “They taught me that if I wasn’t well, I couldn’t be well for them either.”.

Chantal's heart aches as she recalls one of the hardest decisions she ever had to make: returning to work immediately after her husband's death. “I got sick, I lost weight, and that's when my children told me they felt like they had lost their mom and dad. That day changed my life. From then on, I understood that they came before everything else.”.
Values are the cornerstone of their upbringing. Respect, empathy, honesty, solidarity, and tolerance are lessons they instill every day in their home, recognizing their children's individual differences and fostering unity among them. “We are very close. After God, we have each other.”.
For first-time mothers, her advice is clear and heartfelt: “Live your life to the fullest with your children, because we don't know how long God will allow us to enjoy them. Prepare yourselves emotionally and professionally, because giving life is not enough; you also need the means and the strength to raise them.”.
Chantal Pimentel is not only a successful businesswoman, she is an admirable mother whose story has become an inspiration. Her life is a testament to the fact that, although motherhood can be challenging, it is also the purest source of love, resilience, and transformation.
