At ANATO Colombia, a new 115-room hotel is announced for Puerto Plata

With Puerto Plata being the destination that the Dominican Republic is promoting at the 43rd edition of the "ANATO Tourism Showcase", 2024 which opened yesterday in Bogotá, Colombia, Grupo De Valle announced on that stage the construction of a new 115-room hotel that will be built in the bride of the Atlantic.

Businessman Edward De Valle, CEO of the De Valle Group, exclusive owner of the La Quinta franchise, along with other brands by Wyndham in the Dominican Republic, announced that "La Quinta by Wyndham" is the new international brand that will arrive in Puerto Plata, generating 200 new direct jobs in its construction phase.

“What better setting to announce the construction of our hotel, La Quinta Puerto Plata, than at this ANATO Showcase, where the Dominican Republic is dedicating its participation to the destination that saw the birth of tourism on that beautiful Caribbean island,” said De Valle, making the announcement at the Dominican stand.

The hotel will feature a lobby bar, a restaurant, coworking and meeting spaces, a well-equipped wellness center, and a swimming pool.

“We are here at ANATO as a way to support Puerto Plata, taking into account that Colombia has become one of the main sources of tourists to the Dominican Republic after the United States and Canada,” the businessman explained.

He understands that this is a very special moment, as Wyndham Rewards has more than 106 million members looking for new destinations in the Caribbean islands.

“Those 106 million Wyndham Rewards members have full confidence in the 24 brands by Wyndham and recognize La Quinta for its more than 900 hotels in the United States and Canada,” he said.

He stated that the United States contributed more than 47 percent of the tourists who visited "that beautiful Caribbean island.".

He reported that La Quinta Puerto Plata has joined La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís, which is currently under construction.

The businessman highlighted the favorable investment climate in the Dominican Republic and the excellent work being done by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in conjunction with the private sector.

The exhibition will run until tomorrow, March 1st, in the Colombian capital and is being held at the Corferias business center.
