SANTO DOMINGO- The Dominican airline Arajet announced that it has begun its flights to Mexico and plans to start landings on November 16 in Kingston, Jamaica.
In a press release, the company, which promotes itself by offering low prices, highlighted that it celebrated its arrival in Mexico with its first flight to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), located in Mexico City, during an event that was supported by the country's Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco.
According to reports, the airline has three weekly flight frequencies: Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing from 7:15 a.m. and arriving at 10:40 a.m.
Arajet adds that in its quest to "democratize" the airline industry in the region, it aims to complete its connection offering between Mexico and the Dominican Republic by opening two additional routes.
In this way, it details that it plans to offer air flights, starting next Friday, September 30, to Monterrey, with two weekly frequencies: Tuesdays and Fridays, with a departure time of 7:15 a.m. and arriving at 11:05 a.m.
It also plans flights to Cancun three times a week: on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing at 6:45 p.m. and arriving at 8:40 p.m. On Sundays, it plans to depart for that Mexican city at 5:20 p.m., arriving at 7:10 p.m.
Regarding the planned flights to Jamaica, which will begin on November 16, the airline announced that it intends to offer two weekly flights: one departing on Mondays at 6:40 p.m. and arriving at 9:05 p.m., and another on Wednesdays departing at 5:20 p.m. and arriving at 8:50 p.m.
It will begin operations in Guatemala
As part of its plans, Arajet announced that it will begin operations in Guatemala City on Wednesday the 28th of this month, with two weekly flights: Wednesday and Sunday, with departure scheduled for 8:00 a.m. and arrival at 9:15 a.m.
The press release highlights that ArajetVíctor Pacheco Méndez stated: “These markets are crucial for the tourism and airline industry, so venturing into these new and direct routes to such emblematic destinations represents a unique opportunity to boost visitor traffic, benefiting economic, tourism, commercial, and cultural development between both countries.”

The Dominican airline details that it has an initial fleet of five new, state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, promising to offer a comfortable and safe flight experience.
These aircraft have a cabin with 185 reclining seats, ensuring maximum comfort and ample personal space.
