SANTO DOMINGO.– Permitting continues to be a major obstacle for the Dominican construction sector, given the daily difficulties faced by businesses in this field, despite it being one of the fundamental pillars of the national economy.
In that regard, the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Paíno Henríquez, recently presented the CRIM Express platform to the Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Promoters (ACOPROVI), an initiative that he assures will reduce response times in the initial stages of applications.
The new module, as explained to developers and builders, automates the pre-categorization of projects, integrating artificial intelligence, optimizing the user experience, and reducing response times in the initial stages of the application.
It was presented at the business luncheon of the Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Promoters (ACOPROVI), under the motto "efficient permitting", a meeting held on March 6 at the Embassy and Suites hotel.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Environment, CRIM Espress enables full automation, facilitating immediate processing, efficiency with AI and the use of advanced robotics to validate data in Category D files.
Henríquez also highlighted the maturity of the SIGEO RD platform, which, he explained, offers 19 layers of territorial data. This tool allows developers to consult real-time restrictions and feasibility studies for their land before initiating any investment, ensuring that projects are developed according to sustainability criteria.
During the exhibition, a live technical consultation table was set up, where Ministry technicians answered questions from ACOPROVI members in real time.
With these measures, the Ministry of Environment said it seeks to facilitate responsible investment, ensuring that the Dominican Republic's economic growth progresses in balance with ecological preservation.
