SANTIAGO.- The Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and the Metropolitan Hospital of Services (HOMS) Health & Wellness Center formalized an inter-institutional collaboration agreement that will allow students from the School of Tourism and Gastronomy of this academy to carry out internships and practices in the medical center.
The agreement aims to promote the training and development of students' practical skills through professional internships lasting 360 hours and taking place at the HOMS Health & Wellness Center facilities.
Furthermore, the agreement stipulates that students who will be doing their internships here will receive an induction training, informing them of those aspects that are considered necessary for the proper development of these.

Speaking at the signing of this agreement, Dr. Rafael Antonio Sánchez Español, president of the Homs board, emphasized that, since its inception, this hospital has a teaching soul, and that through this agreement they reaffirm their strong commitment to collaborate in continuing education, expanding the practical skills of students.
“Making the facilities of the HOMS Health & Wellness Center available is a contribution to continue forging professionals with quality, capacity and above all who always put humanity and service first,” said Sánchez Español.
The rector of PUCMM, Reverend Father Dr. Secilio Espinal, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in PUCMM and the close relationship and connection that the university has developed with HOMS for years.
The rector highlighted that this agreement is expected to strengthen academic training through seminars, congresses and relevant international events promoted by both institutions, in addition to reinforcing the major health tourism project in the Dominican Republic.
“We have a great opportunity to relaunch and support these new initiatives, an alliance that benefits both projects and also has a great social impact on the country,” said Father Secilio Espinal.
HOMS Health and Wellness Center (HHWC) is a complex comprised of an innovative professional tower of medical specialties, a convention center and a Residence Inn by Marriott hotel, to strengthen health and wellness tourism, as well as congresses, business and leisure in the northern region.
