ProDominicana graduates 66 professionals in Foreign Direct Investment and Foreign Trade

SANTO DOMINGO.– The Dominican Republic's Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana) held the closing ceremony for the diploma programs in Foreign Trade and International Management of Foreign Direct Investment, within the framework of the process of updating and relaunching the ProDominicana Institute. 

The objective of the training day is to continue contributing to the development and strengthening of the country's skills in foreign trade, both for exporters and potential exporters, as well as for society in general.

ProDominicana's Deputy Technical Director, Mildred Santos, emphasized that to enter, maintain, and grow in international markets, it is necessary to promote educational programs that allow Dominicans to train and learn about international consumption trends and the requirements demanded in the most demanding markets. 

Furthermore, he pointed out that ProDominicana is prepared to offer the most up-to-date, comprehensive and innovative training in foreign trade and investment with the purpose of continuing to explore markets and attract investments that translate into a sustainable future for the Dominican Republic. 

“Our institution seeks to be the center of academic excellence that leads the Dominican Republic’s export and investment sector towards more competitive horizons,” he said.

Santos explained that for the August-September quarter of this year, diplomas will be offered in the areas of investment, export and foreign trade: Export Logistics Management and International Management of Foreign Direct Investment.

In addition, the diploma in foreign trade with a concentration in the development of new markets and the formulation and evaluation of investment projects for the period October–December 2023. 

These new teachings highlight the steps that ProDominicana is taking to obtain certification from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT), as the Specialized Institute of Higher Education.

Among the 66 graduates are real estate agents, executives of exporting companies, potential exporters, owners and managers of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, who successfully completed the academic process. 

In addition, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Port of Haina with the teachers as part of the training practices carried out during the classes.
