The Japan International Cooperation Agency, better known by the acronym JICA, chaired by Akihico Tanaka, coordinates aid for economic and social development for tourism growth in Mao, Valverde.
To achieve this goal, representatives from JICA met yesterday, Wednesday, with the Director of Environment in this province, engineer Ernesto Rodríguez, with whom they discussed how to create a platform for the management of natural and tourist resources.
“We are more than honored by the meeting between our ministry and the representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, as well as the person in charge of the Community Alliance for the Development of the Sustainable Tourism Circuit in the Northwest Region (Kareta Travels),” said Rodríguez.
The engineer stated that the idea is to promote and develop sustainable community tourism in the Valverde province, given its numerous rivers, mountains, natural resources, and protected areas, allowing us to take advantage of these resources provided by Mother Nature.
“The Valverde province, in addition to its rivers and mountains, boasts a delicious gastronomy, both for local and international tourists, and the idea is to structure a platform,” he indicated.
During the working session, attendees included Nicols Rodríguez, representative of the company Kareta Travels, the mayors of the municipalities of Esperanza, Laguna Salada and Mao, Governor Deisy Aquino, Neighborhood Councils, Civil Defense and a representative of the Valverde Chamber of Commerce.
