SANTO DOMINGO EAST – The Association of Builders of Santo Domingo East (ACOSDE) demanded the implementation of a one-stop shop that houses all the offices that process construction permits, such as the environment, city hall, Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), among others, in that area.
During a lunch with Senator and candidate again for the province of Santo Domingo, Antonio Taveras, and the mayor for the National District, Carolina Mejía, they highlighted the growth that this municipality has experienced in recent years and the challenges that this reality poses.
The Association highlights in a press release that it was a working lunch where crucial issues for the development of the construction sector in the growing municipality of Santo Domingo Este were addressed.
During the meeting, which took place last Saturday, April 20, at a restaurant in the aforementioned municipality, Senator Taveras shared his vision on urban development and public policies related to the construction sector, the document explains.
Another topic discussed during the activity was the lighting of the streets of Alma Rosa and Ensanche Ozama, the deficiencies of the drinking water system in these sectors and the importance of a public/private center and the 20/50 Project, the information states.
It is worth noting that Carolina Mejía shared the best experiences and practices carried out in the mayor's office, related to the construction sector in the National District.
"The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity for the exchange of ideas and perspectives between
Senator Taveras and the members of the association's board, who greatly appreciated the
opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with such a prominent figure in the political sphere," the press release stated.
It highlights that the Santo Domingo East Builders Association reaffirms its commitment to continue collaborating closely with authorities and political leaders in order to promote comprehensive and equitable development in the municipality.
The Santo Domingo East Builders Association was created in February of this year as an organization committed to the development and growth of the construction sector in the municipality of Santo Domingo East, working in collaboration with local authorities and other relevant actors to promote best practices and contribute to the progress of the community, the entity's document emphasizes.
The first board of directors of ACOSDE, which will serve a two-year term from 2024 to 2026, is composed of engineer Riubell Montes de Oca, president; Diógenes Cruz, secretary; Rafael Agramonte, deputy secretary; Junior Cepeda, treasurer; Darío Soler, 1st member and coordinator of the logistics and media commission; Carlos Leonardo, 2nd member and coordinator of the finance commission; and Ana Contreras, 3rd member and coordinator of the technical commission.
Also Wilson Reyes, 4th Member, coordinator of the public/private processing commission; Otilio Barrientos, 5th Member, coordinator of the educational, training and professional commission; and Jorge Soler, 6th Member, coordinator of the legal commission.
