SANTO DOMINGO.-This Sunday, May 25, the Dominican Republic celebrates "Mother's Day," a date chosen to recognize the hard work, effort, dedication, and commitment of those who have the sacred responsibility of multiplying the world through the maternal womb.
There is no universal date to honor this day; each country has adopted its own. Documents indicate that its origins date back to ancient Greece, where festivals were held in honor of Rhea, the mother of the gods. Later, in Roman times, tribute was paid to Cybele, another maternal figure. However, the modern version of this day originated in the United States.
From the El Inmobiliario Media Group, we pay tribute to Dominican and global mothers, those who give everything and much more: We share the testimony of five mothers in the industry.
What does being a mother mean to you?
"I waited for over twenty years through treatments, years coming and going as I waited for the miracle of becoming a mother. It wasn't in my time, but in God's time, and when it arrived, it came with the sweetness of a promise fulfilled, with the tenderness of a love that cannot be explained in words. My daughter, whom we named Grace, my only daughter, is the greatest joy my heart has ever known. I always tell her she is both the smallest and the greatest. Since her birth, my joy has been constant.".
Blessed to be diligent, loving, disciplined… but above all, she is light. That light that inspires me each day to continue living with purpose, to keep fighting not only for her dreams, my dreams, but also for the dreams of many other women who, like me, carry within them a flame of hope.
Being their mother has undoubtedly transformed me. It has made me stronger, more patient, more compassionate. We value each of their challenges and achievements, and each of their smiles is another reason to continue believing that miracles exist and that life always rewards faith.
Thanks to her, I understand the true meaning of unconditional love, and because of her, I am still here, steadfast, dreaming, working, and sowing the seeds of the future, and as a testament to life... and to the women who wish to be mothers and have not yet achieved it, I say... do not lose faith, because anything is possible.".

“For me, being a mother has been the greatest mission of my life, my driving force, and the greatest source of strength that
has made me resilient. It is an act of faith and boundless selflessness. As
a single mother and widow, every step I take is with my heart set on my children. It hasn't been easy,
but it has been the truest and most valuable experience I have ever had.”

"For me, being a mother is not a sacrifice, but an opportunity to grow. He inspires me to be authentic, sincere, and a better person. My son, my adventure partner, and my greatest privilege: to be able to give him life, accompany him in his development, and marvel at seeing him become someone extraordinary, teaching him that happiness and fulfillment are possible, even in motherhood.".

"Being a mother for me is the greatest work of love a woman can experience, firstly because of the emotional bond that comes with having her child in her womb for 9 months, because of the bond of love, affection and trust when raising and educating him, as well as the long journey they walk together sharing their different achievements in life. Being a mother can also represent unique challenges, sacrifices and joys.".

Anarelys de la Cruz, real estate advisor, mother of Priscila Isabel De León De La Cruz.
“Being a mother for me has meant learning to take care of myself and love myself. Learning to be well, for her. Being Iara’s mother has been my anchor. I had to leave my career in the hotel industry to have a child because while I was working, I lost three babies in the final stages of pregnancy. They were born alive and then died. Imagine what it means, then, to be the mother of this beauty… For me, being a mother hasn’t just been about giving life; it’s also been about holding it in the arms of my soul. It’s been about reinventing myself in the face of exhaustion and learning to love freely. Being a mother is proving to be an intense journey, but one full of purpose. It’s about watching another human being grow and, at the same time, seeing a deeper version of myself being born. Because motherhood has taught me not to define it by the perfection that characterizes me, but by the love and dedication we give every day.”.
When my first son died, I personally ensured he rested in the same place where my grandfather, whom I adored as a child, lay. I organized everything from my office, while simultaneously managing two departments. No one knew. I buried my emotions so deeply that I didn't allow myself to feel how much my heart broke. I couldn't grieve until long after the loss of my twins, who also died at birth due to immaturity. Even while pregnant with them, I didn't stop. From my hospital bed, already out of the hotel, I managed to complete the scorecard for both positions. But all of that paralyzed me. It drained me. I was completely lost, and only by reconnecting with my creative, artisanal side did I begin to find myself again. It was only then that this gem was finally born.

“In the real estate world, we measure spaces, aspirations, and structures. But there’s a type of construction that isn’t seen in blueprints: the construction of motherhood. For me, being a mother is about nurturing through love, leading by example, and building a legacy with every decision. My children, Roberto and Valentina, are my greatest life project and my greatest inspiration. And behind everything I am as a woman and a professional is my mother, who taught me with strength and tenderness what it means to be a firm foundation for others. Today I celebrate those who, like her, teach with love, and those of us who, like me, continue to build with our hearts.”.
