SANTO DOMINGO- The Dominican Republic reached its highest number of arrivals during the recently concluded Holy Week with the visit of 201,889 tourists, reported Tourism Minister David Collado this Monday.
In a message through his social media account X, the official stated that this figure represents the highest level recorded this season.
“Good news for tourism and Dominicans! In 2025, 201,889 tourists arrived in the country to spend their Holy Week vacations,” posted Collado, who toured the various destinations in the country during the Holy Week holiday.
He indicated that this arrival represented an occupancy of 63,000 hotel rooms during Holy Week.
“If we add local tourism, we also have a high hotel occupancy rate: Boca Chica-Juan Dolio with 88.2%, Sosúa 87% and Bávaro-Punta Cana 87%,” Collado reported on his social media.
