The president of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Julia Simpson, stated that the Dominican Republic is an ideal country for tourism investment due to its political stability and legal security.
Speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of the Dominican Republic's stand at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, led by Tourism Minister David Collado, Simpson defined the Dominican Republic as a very special tourist market.
"I have never seen such a formidable market," stressed the president of the WTTC, the only forum that represents the private sector in all parts of the industry globally.
He highlighted the strong alliance that exists between the public and private sectors, which he attributed to the outstanding work of David Collado.

Upon inaugurating the stand, Collado highlighted the importance of the World Travel Market (WTM) for the Dominican market.
He reported that, within the framework of the fair, where more than 17 co-exhibitors are participating, he will hold important business meetings and sign agreements that guarantee the arrival of more English tourists to the Caribbean country.
He recalled that last year the Dominican Republic received 178,000 British tourists, which, in his opinion, had a direct impact on the economy and on job creation in the country.
"The arrival of these British tourists generated 12,000 jobs and more than 200 million dollars in foreign currency. In addition, it brought in 1.6 billion pesos in tax revenue," Collado stated.
The organizers of World Travel Market London, which began this Tuesday and will run until tomorrow, Thursday, announced that this year's event will be the largest to date, with expected growth of 7 %.
