At the International French Travel Market (IFTM) 2025, (Top Resa) the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, presented to more than 250 actors of the French tourism industry, the opportunities and attractions of the emerging destination Miches, located on the northeast coast of the country.
Accompanied by Vice Minister Jacqueline Mora, the head of Mitur outlined the tourism diversification strategies being promoted by the country and emphasized the importance of the French market as a strategic partner in the sector's growth.
During the trade show that ended yesterday, representatives of the Dominican government highlighted some achievements such as the agreement with Air France to restart the direct flight route between Paris and Punta Cana in January 2026, with three weekly frequencies.
Similarly, the increase in flights to nine weekly frequencies with Air Caraïbes, which will also begin operations to Samaná, will result in a consolidated increase of more than 40% in connectivity from France to the Dominican Republic in 2026.
These partnerships are expected to boost the arrival of more than 200,000 French tourists to the Dominican Republic next year, resulting in an estimated net foreign exchange impact of more than $230 million, RD$2,318 million in taxes, and 22,929 jobs.
The Venezuelan presence in Paris was comprised of a delegation of 30 co-exhibiting companies, including hotel chains, DMCs, tour operators, airlines and adventure parks, whose representatives described this edition as having the highest volume of negotiations in the history of their participation, a testament to the success of the country's strategy, according to national media.

During the presentation, George Nader, representing Promiches, highlighted the natural wealth and potential of Miches as a unique destination. “Miches is much more than a beach resort; it is a destination where nature displays all its richness, making it a privileged space for the development of sustainable tourism,” the businessman explained.
Nader also recalled the agreement signed between the public and private sectors to guarantee a tourism development model in that area based on responsible investment, community integration and environmental conservation.
Miches, in El Seibo province, will offer something different, he maintained, mentioning companies such as the Four Seasons chain, the Hilton Hotel with 500 rooms, and the 1,000 rooms already open in a "soft opening" with Hyatt, which will be formally inaugurated at the end of November.
In his remarks, Nader emphasized that Miches is "a collective dream come true," as the destination combines natural wealth—beaches, mountains, lagoons, and unique biodiversity—with a development model that aims for a long-term legacy for the country.
