MADRID, SPAIN. - Everything is ready for the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to formalize a multi-destination agreement, which will guarantee that more tourists will arrive in both nations.
This was announced yesterday, Thursday, by the governor of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González, and the Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado, after meeting within the framework of the FITUR tourism fair, which is being held here and will extend until Sunday.
Governor González announced that a cooperation agreement between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to promote multi-destination tourism between the two Caribbean countries will be formalized in February.

He said that Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have much to promote together and assured that relations between San Juan and Santo Domingo must be strengthened.
The governor of Puerto Rico congratulated the Dominican Republic on the impressive stand set up at FITUR.
Collado, for his part, thanked Governor González for her visit to the Dominican stand and announced the beginning of an alliance between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico in the tourism sector.
“We are going to focus on multi-destination tourism with Puerto Rico,” said the Dominican Minister of Tourism.
He noted that last year 250,000 Puerto Ricans visited the Dominican Republic, making it the sixth largest source of tourists.
