SANTO DOMINGO.- Banco Popular Dominicano announced the opening of three new offices and the expansion and modernization of six others at a simultaneous event, which was led by its executive president, Christopher Paniagua.
The main event of these simultaneous openings took place in the office located on the second level of Ágora Santiago Center, in the city of Santiago, and from there a connection was established with the offices of Plaza Paseo 27 in Santo Domingo and in the municipality of Jarabacoa, La Vega province.
In addition, during the opening of the new offices, the recent opening of branches in Jumbo Luperón and Olé 27 de Febrero was also announced, as well as the renovation of offices in Blue Mall, Multicentro Oriental, Boca Chica and Baní.
Strategic offices
The bank announced in a press release that the new branches combine technology and personalized service in modern spaces that enhance the customer experience. This hybrid model promotes self-service and strengthens customer relationships through closer support.
“Thanks to this strategy, the bank achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 90 points and a 98% satisfaction rate in 2024, the highest in the sector. Furthermore, it has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year as the “Most Digital Bank in the Dominican Republic” by the Superintendency of Banks, standing out in the region for its innovation, personalized advice, and social commitment,” he noted.
The three new branches are located in the Ágora Santiago Center shopping mall, on Salvador Estrella Sadhalá Avenue, in Santiago; on Norberto Tiburcio Avenue, in Jarabacoa; and in Plaza Paseo 27 on Prolongación 27 de Febrero, Santo Domingo Oeste.
The modernized branches in Santo Domingo are located in Jumbo Luperón, on Gregorio Luperón Avenue, corner of Gustavo Mejía-Ricart; Blue Mall, on the third level of the Blue Mall shopping center, on Winston Churchill Avenue; Multicentro Oriental, on Charles de Gaulle Avenue, near the Mella highway; Olé 27 de Febrero, on 27 de Febrero Avenue, in the El Millón sector; Boca Chica, on Juan Pablo Duarte Street, corner of Juan Bautista Vicini and Baní, on Máximo Gómez Street No. 3, corner of Duarte, Peravia province.
Francisco Ramírez, executive vice president of Personal Banking and Branches, highlighted that the new offices strengthen Popular's digital transformation strategy by raising the standards of efficiency, functionality and personalized service.
“Thanks to our digital ecosystem and modern infrastructure, today customers find more functional offices, waiting times reduced by 50%, and more personalized service,” he stated.
These branches are equipped with state-of-the-art ATMs, including units for commercial deposits, and a queue management system that speeds up service. They offer spacious areas with digital self-service, personalized attention, and accessibility for people with disabilities.
The event was attended by Julio Caminero, Superintendent of Banks, and José Armando Bermúdez, member of the Board of Directors of Banco Popular and its parent company, Grupo Popular.
