PGA Ocean's 4, located in Playa Nueva Romana, has been recognized as the Best Golf Course (Americas Edition), within the framework of the North America Golf Tourism Convention (NAC) 2025. This award, given by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), is considered one of the most prestigious in the sports tourism industry globally.
This recognition consolidates the Dominican Republic as a golf destination and celebrates a proposal that has successfully integrated technical excellence, sustainability, and Caribbean hospitality, according to a press release.
“This award represents much more than recognition: it is the validation of the effort, passion and excellence with which our entire team works every day to offer a truly exceptional golf experience at PGA Ocean's 4, in Playa Nueva Romana,” said Carlos De Linares, golf director of the resort.
The distinction awarded by IAGTO, an organization that brings together more than 2,400 golf tourism professionals in 93 countries, is based on the direct evaluation of experts familiar with the world's leading destinations. In their assessment, 733 tour operators considered the quality of the design, course maintenance, player services, and innovative capabilities offered by PGA Ocean's 4, among 858 courses in the Americas and the Caribbean.
"The award not only recognizes the quality of the course, but also reaffirms the commitment of Playa Nueva Romana and PGA Ocean's 4 to the development of sustainable sports tourism, with a long-term vision and deep respect for the natural environment," the press release states.
