SANTO DOMINGO - The Ministry of Labor announced yesterday the dates corresponding to the holidays during the year 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
According to the calendar published by the state agency, the days on which there will be no work in the country will be the following:
Wednesday, January 1st, the date of the New Year celebration, is not changed.
Monday, January 6th, Three Kings' Day, is not changed.
Tuesday, January 21st, the day of Our Lady of Altagracia, will not be changed.
Sunday, January 26, the date on which the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte is commemorated, will not be changed.
Meanwhile, Thursday, February 27th, National Independence Day, is a fixed date.
Also fixed is Friday, April 18, Good Friday, a religious holiday commemorating the death of Jesus Christ.
Likewise, Thursday, May 1st, Labor Day, will be a work day and will be moved to Monday, May 5th.
Thursday, June 19, the day on which the religious festival of Corpus Christi is celebrated, will not be changed.
Similarly, Saturday, August 16, the day of the Restoration of the Dominican Republic, will not be changed.
Wednesday, September 24, the day of Our Lady of Mercy, will not be changed.
Meanwhile, Thursday, November 6th, Constitution Day, is a work day and is moved to Monday, November 10th.
Thursday, December 25th, Christmas Day or the birth of Jesus, is not changed.
Law No. 139-97, dated June 19, 1997, regarding the transfer to Mondays of holidays that coincide with Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, was published in Official Gazette No. 9957, dated June 25, 1997, and came into effect on the 27th of the same month and year, and therefore, in accordance with the provisions of our legislation, it must be applied in all establishments in the country.
