Yesterday , 3,100 property titles , out of a total of 5,636, were received by families in the Palmarejo-Villa Linda community in Santo Domingo Oeste , benefiting more than 12,000 Dominicans , according to the press release from the Presidency.
the remaining 2,000 will be delivered in the coming months He also stated that work is already underway on a second phase that will include an additional 2,000 titles.
The beneficiary families belong to the sectors José Contreras, La Isabela, Villa Flores, Palmarejo, Villa El Palmar, Villa Morada, Villa Santa Rosa and Santa Rosa I and II, whose lands now have official recognition from the State.
Impact
During the event, President Abinader highlighted the impact of the National Land Titling Program , noting that this initiative transforms the lives of thousands of Dominican families by guaranteeing them legal security and economic opportunities.
The head of state expressed that each beneficiary family multiplies the value of their home upon obtaining their title, and that with the recent modification of the Family Property Law , they will now be able to access formal loans and make improvements to their homes.
He noted that, at the national level, the Government has delivered more than 140,000 property titles , with approximately 240,000 more in the process of being distributed before 2028, while highlighting that this public policy is a clear example of social justice , as it allows families to live with greater peace of mind, security and hope for the future.
Abinader reiterated his commitment to continue eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to expedite deliveries and extend this benefit to communities throughout the country.
For his part, the executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit (UTECT), Duarte Méndez , described the land title delivery ceremony held in Palmarejo, Villa Linda, as historic , noting that more than 3,000 families are now receiving legal security for their homes.
"To this day, this is the largest project we have delivered throughout the entire national territory, a demonstration of President Luis Abinader's commitment to the people.".
Méndez explained that the titling process covered an area of more than 900,000 square meters , in coordination with the State Sugar Council , and represents a savings of more than RD 242 million for the beneficiary families, since they receive their titles free of charge . He assured that this effort is part of a public policy that seeks to transform lives and restore peace of mind to those who have waited for this moment for years.
The official emphasized that the delivery of titles is not the end of a process, but the continuation of the constant work that the Government carries out to guarantee the right to property for all Dominicans.
“We will continue to make every effort to ensure that every family that legitimately lives on state-owned land has their title in hand, without obstacles or excuses,” Duarte Méndez said, thanking the local authorities and the technical team that made this goal possible.
