SANTO DOMINGO. – Fifty young people from Villa Montellano will have the opportunity to prepare themselves to enter the labor market through the "A Ganar", an initiative promoted by Punta Bergantín and the DREAM Project Foundation that seeks to develop local talent in anticipation of the growth of the tourism industry in Puerto Plata.
According to information shared by Punta Bergantín, the program is aimed at young people who are not currently studying or working and includes comprehensive training that combines technical training, development of soft skills and practical experiences in work environments.
Preparation for the jobs demanded by tourism
According to the tourism project, the initiative responds to the need for trained human capital to meet the growing demand for personnel that will be generated by the tourism development of Puerto Plata and its area of influence.
The program will be developed in four stages: technical training, strengthening of socio-emotional skills, internships in companies, and support to facilitate job placement. As a complement, participants will have access to the English program of the National Institute of Technical and Vocational Training (INFOTEP), with the aim of expanding their employment opportunities.
Alliance to strengthen local talent
The initiative was formalized through an agreement signed by the executive director of Punta Bergantín, Andrés Marranzini Grullón, and the executive director of the DREAM Project Foundation, Catherine DeLaura.
According to Punta Bergantín, the goal is to strengthen development opportunities for young people in Villa Montellano and reduce employability gaps in communities near the tourism project.
During the signing of the agreement, Marranzini maintained that the growth of Punta Bergantín should translate into benefits for the surrounding communities, through the training of young people who can access quality jobs within the sector.
For her part, DeLaura stated that the alliance will expand opportunities for the youth of Villa Montellano and generate a sustainable impact for both families and the community.
The initiative is part of the social responsibility actions promoted by Punta Bergantín to contribute to the training of local talent and prepare a skilled workforce to support the tourism development of Puerto Plata.
