SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close several structures in Greater Santo Domingo to vehicular traffic from Monday, September 2nd until Saturday, September 7th, including overpasses and bridges, in order to carry out maintenance work.
Closing times begin at 10:00 PM and will continue until work is completed in each case.
The participating brigades are involved in solid waste collection, sweeping and aggregate collection, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, both in the lower and interior areas.
From this Monday until Friday, the closure corresponds to the tunnel on Las Américas Avenue between Venezuela Avenue and Sabana Larga Avenue.
From Monday to Wednesday, the Las Américas Oeste underpass with Avenida 25 de Febrero (dry bridge) will be closed.
This Monday only, the closure will correspond to the overpasses of 27 de Febrero, Duarte highway with Los Beisbolistas (Manoguayabo), Duarte with Monumental (Los Girasoles), the underpasses or dry bridges of Mirador Sur avenues with Italia, Núñez de Cáceres with Cayetano Germosén, with Independencia, George Washington; Jacobo Majluta with La Isabela road, the Jacobo Majluta bridge, and the Núñez de Cáceres tunnel.
The underpass at 27 de Febrero and Tiradentes will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
From Tuesday to Friday, the closures will be for the Francisco del Rosario Sánchez bridge
Only on Tuesday will the overpasses of Luperón Avenue with 30 de Mayo, Charles de Gaulle with the highway to San Isidro and Charles de Gaulle with the Mella highway, Duarte highway with Duarte street (Los Alcarrizos), the grade separations of kilometer 13 of the Duarte with Prolongación 27, Duarte with República de Colombia, kilometer 14 of the Duarte highway be intervened.
From this Wednesday until Friday, the closure will be for the long tunnel of 27 de Febrero between Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill.
On Wednesday, the Ortega y Gasset (UASD) tunnel, the Máximo Gómez and Nicolás de Ovando overpasses, the Gómez and Juan Pablo Duarte avenue overpass, the Máximo Gómez and Ovando overpass, and the Ozama and Gregorio Luperón bridges will be inspected.
On Thursday, the overpasses on the Sánchez highway with Independencia (km 12), the Quinto Centenario Expressway with Duarte Avenue, Hermanos Pinzón and San Martín, the Jacobo Majluta overpass with the entrance to Guaricano, and Charles de Gaulle with Hermanas Mirabal will be closed.
On Friday, work will be carried out on the bridges of the 6 de Noviembre highway, the Sánchez road, Ramón Matías Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez; the overpasses of Winston Churchill with John F. Kennedy (South-West), Kennedy with Churchill (East-South), and the grade separations of Prolongación 27 de Febrero with 6 de Noviembre.
Also, the control centers or tunnel of Ortega y Gasset (UASD), Las Américas, 27 de Febrero with Churchill and Lincoln, and the overpass of Padre Castellanos with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez.
On Saturday, the closures will correspond to the overpasses of the John F. Kennedy Expressway with Luperón (km 9), kilometer 13 with Prolongación 27 de Febrero, Duarte highway with República de Colombia, kilometer 14 with Duarte, San Vicente de Paul with Venezuela.
