The Aida Sol and Brilliance of the Seas cruise ships were the first to coincide together since the opening of the tourist terminal.
SANTO DOMINGO - President Luis Abinader highlighted this Friday an unprecedented event for Dominican tourism, announcing the simultaneous arrival of two cruise ships at the port of Cabo Rojo , in Pedernales, at 9:20 a.m., with a total of 4,679 passengers, cultural, historical and community offerings of the province.
Through his account on X, the president celebrated the event as "a historic day for Pedernales," welcoming the cruise ships Aida Sol and Brilliance of the Seas , the first to coincide together since the opening of the tourist terminal.
“Today, November 28, 2025, Pedernales makes history! For the first time, two cruise ships have arrived together, carrying 4,679 passengers who are embarking on a journey through our culture, our people, and our identity. Welcome to Pedernales, Aida Sol and Brilliance of the Seas!” President Abinader posted on the aforementioned social network.
The head of state highlighted that this milestone confirms the progress of tourism development in the southern region and the positive impact of the Cabo Rojo project , which continues to position Pedernales as a new hub of growth and opportunities for its inhabitants.
