districts .
SANTO DOMINGO. – In the session last Tuesday, the Chamber of Deputies approved in a single discussion a total of 683 contracts for the purchase and sale of land and real estate between the State and private individuals, distributed in different provinces of the country.
Among the validated contracts are 570 plots of land of less than one thousand square meters, in addition to 83 houses, 30 commercial premises and 30 plots of land of more than one thousand square meters, according to the report presented in the hemicycle.
According to a press release, the highest concentration of approved properties is in El Almirante , with 70 contracts, followed by Santiago de los Caballeros , with 50, and Sosúa, Puerto Plata, with 40. Also noteworthy are the capital city sectors of Villa Juana and Villa Consuelo, with 38 contracts each.
The president of the Contracts Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Tobias Crespo, took a turn to urge the approval and explained that the committee meets every Friday and makes visits to different provinces to verify the suitability of the contracts.
Crespo indicated that the Chamber of Deputies has approved more than 6,000 real estate purchase and sale contracts between the State and private individuals in recent periods, which has allowed for a reduction in the legislative backlog in this area.
