José Rafael Abreu is a civil engineer and co-founder of Dirava Construcciones, with over eight years of experience in the construction and real estate sector. He studied engineering under the influence of his father, as he would visit the projects where his father worked as a contractor when he was young. Among the projects he has led are Mystiq Bay, Mystiq Wave, Mystiq Cuesta Hermosa, and Riverside Residences.

Face-to-face communication and brainstorming among those involved in a challenge, whether on-site or in the office, has always led us to specific solutions to move forward efficiently.
What do you do to build responsibly?
You need a team of responsible people behind you, committed to the process, timelines, and costs. Recruit collaborators, contractors, and suppliers who understand our mission and vision.
What sustainable aspects do they take into account?
We believe that the best way to reduce the environmental impact of construction is by streamlining transportation logistics to reduce the carbon footprint and implementing reforestation within the project itself.
How do you see the construction in the eastern area?
It is a time to adapt to the new circumstances of the sector due to the sudden reduction in the supply of labor, to implement new ways of working, machinery that automates it and to adapt the shifts.
What advice would you give to young builders?
Have clear goals for the future, take risks, and partner with people who share those goals. I truly wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for my dedication, having clear goals, and above all, having partners and collaborators who are on the same page regarding the company's future.
How do you see your company in 10 years?
Offering and developing competitive products for the market in which they exist at any given time. We remain firm in our belief that the success of a product depends on its being realistic within the market in which it competes.
