SANTO DOMINGO. -The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) signed a contract with Fiduciaria Popular, S.A. , for the acquisition of its own building , with the purpose of providing the institution with a new headquarters that responds to the operational and growth needs of the telecommunications regulatory body.
The contract was signed by the executive director of Indotel, Julissa Cruz , and the general manager and legal representative of Fiduciaria Popular, Andrés Ignacio Rivas Pérez .
Among the benefits of this acquisition, according to a press release, it is highlighted that both users of Indotel's services and its employees will have access to facilities that will offer an optimal work environment , guarantee the safety of everyone , and ensure the operational continuity of the institution, which will positively impact the productivity and quality of service they offer to the public.

During the ceremony, Director Cruz, representing Indotel President Guido Gómez Mazara , expressed her pride and satisfaction in achieving what she described as one of the most important milestones in the institution's history. The press release states that this operation will represent a savings of approximately RD$1.54 billion for the Dominican State over 10 years .
The contract includes the acquisition of Corporate Building 323, a building of more than 9,000 square meters, strategically located on Avenida 27 de Febrero, between Avenida Winston Churchill and Avenida Dr. Fernando Defilló. This property will offer safe, efficient, and sustainable spaces , as well as 105 parking spaces and a layout designed to house the various departments and technical areas of Indotel.
"The comprehensive solution encompasses not only the building's structural work , but also all necessary electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure upgrades, including standard furnishings, to ensure immediate operational readiness once the move is complete. This decision stems from the institution's need to operate in an environment that allows it to meet the challenges of technological growth, digital transformation, and cybersecurity ."
For over 24 years, Indotel has operated in the Osiris Building , a shared and limited space that, over time, has proven insufficient to meet the growth of its regulatory functions, the expansion of its technical team, and the increasing demand from users. In this context, the acquisition of a new headquarters is part of a strategic vision that positions the institution to meet the challenges of the contemporary digital environment.
"The acquisition was formalized under the single supplier , in accordance with Law No. 340-06 on Public Procurement and Contracting , supported by technical, legal and financial studies that demonstrated the suitability of the property and the proposal submitted. This contract was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of Indotel in its session 011-2025 of March 26 of this year," Indotel states.
