The iconic Boca Chica beach will undergo a complete renovation in an effort to revitalize one of the Dominican Republic's most splendid tourist destinations. Tourism Minister David Collado announced yesterday, Sunday, the start of the work , along with other projects to beautify the surrounding areas, including the businesses located there.
During a meeting with vendors, merchants, and local city officials, the official reported that an investment of 600 million pesos for the restoration of the beach, which is frequented by the largest number of bathers from the Dominican capital and surrounding areas.
As explained, the work will also include the reconstruction of the boardwalk from San Andrés beach to Boca Chica, the paving of all the streets in the surrounding area, and the repair of the drainage and sewage treatment system.
In addition, the construction of three central parks , including the Plaza Los Caracoles and the Children's Park, as well as the creation of a tourism cluster and, with the support of universities, the training of young people in the tourism sector.

He also reported that these merchants will have guaranteed approval of immediate entrepreneurship loans , through the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PROMYPIME) at a preferential rate so that they can access banking services and develop their businesses.
The community
The community members and municipal officials of Boca Chica, while thanking Collado, requested the creation of a board to ensure order, health, and hygiene in the facilities.
According to the schedule, the work will begin within 90 days, and this week a delegation of technicians will carry out a survey for this purpose.
David Collado specified that the tenders for these works have already been uploaded to the institution's portal and will be supervised by universities, churches and the municipal tourism cluster, to guarantee transparency.
“The time has come for Boca Chica, and I reiterate that I will not end my term until this beach is fully restored and will rival the great beaches of the eastern region of the country,” Collado said amidst applause from the locals.
Also participating in the meeting were local deputy Geison Castillo, the president of the tourism commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Aníbal Diaz, and representatives of the chapter hall and the various unions of beach workers.
