Acoprovi values the enactment of the Rental Law; says it is a solid step towards reducing the housing deficit

SANTO DOMINGO - The Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Developers (Acoprovi) expressed its satisfaction with the enactment of Law 85-25 on real estate rentals and evictions, a regulation that, in its opinion, marks a turning point in strengthening the country's real estate market.

In a statement published on its Instagram account, the entity expressed that this new legislation "constitutes a transcendental milestone for the strengthening of the real estate market in our country.".

According to the association, the regulations strengthen legal certainty, promote balanced relationships between landlords and tenants, eliminate procedural obstacles, encourage investment in rental projects, and promote new affordable housing solutions.

“This law increases the supply of rental housing and strengthens the confidence of local and foreign investors, representing a solid step towards reducing the housing deficit,” the association stated.

He also recalled that they had worked for almost three years on sending observations and proposals for the development of the legal framework, and that they had been promoting this issue in different sectors for more than fifteen years.

The association also stressed that achieving a balance between protecting family homes and creating conditions that promote economic growth "is a key step in the right direction.".

Finally, the association reiterated its commitment to collaborate with the authorities and sectors linked to housing, with the aim of ensuring the correct application of the law and continuing to promote public policies that strengthen access to decent housing, the orderly growth of the sector and the well-being of all Dominicans.
