SANTO DOMINGO. - Some phrases have the power to transcend language and become life mantras, guiding people through their daily lives. Engineer Yasnellis Guerrero has coined one of these messages for herself: “Nothing is impossible for those who dare to try.”
He learned this lesson from his parents, who instilled in him this valuable lesson. From his beloved Venezuela, where he was born, he watched his parents work tirelessly and achieve important positions within the oil industry, despite not being able to complete a professional degree due to financial reasons.
At 23, Yasnellis had already achieved a great accomplishment: she had graduated as a mechanical maintenance engineer. Since then, this profession has become a way of life, and she has now accumulated two decades of experience in the field.
Another of her most significant achievements was when she started working as a construction control assistant at refineries in her country, right after graduating. From there, she steadily climbed the ladder through "effort and perseverance.".

Guerrero arrived in the Dominican Republic with her husband after they both decided to emigrate. After analyzing the country's job market, they realized they could adapt to the environment, as the market was focused on civil construction.
Her career at Constructora Interamerica (Cinter), where she currently works in project management, “began by chance.” After a conversation with a friend, she learned that the company had a job opportunity where she could continue to grow.
“When I researched the company, I was struck by its long history in the hotel construction sector, and I thought, why not give it a try? It’s something new for me, and it will allow me to continue growing, which I love. And, as I said before: Nothing is impossible for those who dare to try,” he expressed, reaffirming, once again, his life mantra.
Empathy and resilience have been pillars in her personal and professional development. Her more human side is reflected in her commitment to "encouraging and supporting people" to achieve goals together.
As a professional, her passion for what she does, her level of commitment, and her honesty are the attributes that accompany her in the daily exercise of her duties.
As a mother of two, with a 13-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl, she has been able to set priorities to achieve a balance that, at the beginning, was a "roller coaster" in her life as she had to learn to make "somewhat difficult work decisions" between these two worlds.
“Over time, I have learned to set priorities and continue developing professionally, while also providing love and support to both my children and my husband,” she said affectionately.
To all women, whether in this sector or any other, she sends a message full of motivation so that they have at hand the ingredients to stand out and lead in their area: focus, commitment and perseverance.
