SANTO DOMINGO – Banco BHD and the UNPHU MSME Center developed the “Women Leaders” program, created exclusively for recipients of the Women Who Change the World Award. This initiative coincides with the tenth anniversary of this award, through which BHD recognizes women for their transformative and impactful work.
The program is designed to develop and strengthen the leadership and financial management skills of the initiatives led by the participating women, in order to promote the sustainability of their businesses, generational succession, and financial skills that will allow them to achieve a positive and lasting impact.
This training program lasts six months and includes individual, personalized guidance for each participant. Through practical workshops and mentoring sessions, they will learn the tools to ensure the continuity and sustainability of their initiatives. Upon completion of the program, the women will receive accreditation endorsed by the UNPHU SME Center.

Josefina Navarro, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility, presented the structure of the program and highlighted BHD's commitment to the empowerment of women, which is an intrinsic part of the Gender Strategy that the financial institution has been developing since 2015.
“Women Leaders” seeks to continue the training that stems from the mentoring program received by all the award recipients. “During a decade of running this initiative, we have impacted more than 100 women who are changing the world, and this motivates us with each edition to continue promoting human progress,” Navarro explained.
The program designed by BHD promotes practical knowledge in team management, collaboration, leadership, and performance optimization.
In 2025, BHD celebrates the tenth edition of the Women Who Change the World Award, for which applications are open until May 30. This program is one of the benefits available to women honored by the organization.
