In the Heart City, the Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton was inaugurated yesterday, with the opening ceremony presided over by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, along with Vice President Raquel Peña.
“We are very pleased to celebrate the first milestone of Santiago Center: the formal opening of the Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton. This is a tangible testament to our commitment to the development of this city,” said José Miguel González Cuadra, director of the Santiago Center Group.
The businessman highlighted the economic and labor impact of the project, noting that it has generated more than 1,500 direct jobs, with 70% of them occupied by residents of Santiago.
Miguel Barletta and Pablo Maturana, Hilton's vice president of development for the Caribbean and Latin America, were present at the event.
During his speech, Maturana highlighted the importance of this opening within Hilton's portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America.
“Hotel Santiago, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a key addition to our growth in the region. We celebrate not only the opening of this hotel, but also the effort and dedication of everyone who made this project possible,” he said.

The new hotel blends contemporary architecture with handcrafted details that evoke the culture of the Cibao region. Inspired by the iconic mansions of Santiago de Cuba, the hotel reflects the essence and vibrancy of the "Heart City.".
It has 177 spacious and elegant rooms, many of them with views of the Central Mountain Range.
Their proposal also includes state-of-the-art event halls, designed to meet the growing demand for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism in the region.
It also houses the first Arturo Fuente Cigar Lounge in the Hilton chain worldwide, in homage to the tobacco tradition and entrepreneurial spirit of the region.

Tourism Minister David Collado said, “Today we celebrate the fruits of bold decisions that allowed us to position the Dominican Republic as a leader in the global tourism recovery. Convention and health tourism in Santiago has enormous potential, and this hotel is a key step in that direction.”.
