SANTO DOMINGO. -The National Office for Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (Onesvie) announced the launch of a publicly accessible interactive tool (dashboard) that consolidates technical information about the structural and seismic evaluations carried out on the country's bridges
A press release highlights that it is developed by the Onesvie technical team, together with the Commission for the Supervision of Public Infrastructure in the Face of Climate Change ; this tool constitutes a significant step towards modernization, transparency and data-driven management within the national infrastructure system.
"The National Bridge Viewer , available on the website www.onesvie.gob.do, allows users to consult general information about each bridge in the country, including its type of structure (vehicular, pedestrian or overpass), construction material, geographical location and current condition," the press document highlights.
He explains that the map viewer also offers the possibility of consulting the location, structural condition and vulnerability index of the evaluated bridges, integrating information on structural typology, construction material and corresponding seismic zone.
The platform will also feature a QR code that will allow quick and direct access to the viewer, facilitating public access to information and strengthening transparency and modernization in the management of national infrastructure, it adds.
Implemented in Power BI , the system allows comparative queries by province, region or road type , identifying common patterns and prioritizing the interventions needed to strengthen the country's structural safety.
This functionality also facilitates the identification of risk patterns , and the planning of mitigation and prevention in the face of seismic and climatic phenomena.
